Who'd have thought it???

Updated: Apr 8, 2020

Testing my confidence both mentally and physically by having the balls to go through with a photo shoot, in my sports bra, at the gym was one of my biggest achievements of this year - eeeekkkk!!!!!!!

I am always asking to my clients about taking themselves ‘out of their comfort zone’ to enable them to change – so it's only right that I do the same. So this, for me, was a real test of my confidence, not just physically but mentally too. Confidence, particularly body confidence, is something I have struggled with, so by booking a photoshoot helped to really keep me focused this year. And boy did it do that!

This was something I was TOTALLY out of my comfort zone with and was extremely nervous about doing. But with the help of a fantastic photographer, Jo from Bare Foot Photography, and my friend Kelly (expert fake tanner by the way) by my side before, during and after the shoot, I actually quite enjoyed it (sssh don't tell anyone!)

The sense of achievement I felt post shoot was something I have never experienced before. It has given me the body confidence I thought I would never have. This was evident not only from relaxing quite quickly into the shoot but when I received the photos. I did not see the negatives I would normally criticise myself about. Instead, I saw what I had achieved from the effort I had put in throughout the year. This was truly a ‘moment’ – an absolute milestone in my health and wellbeing journey.

So how I did I get to this point in my journey? Nothing earth shattering at all – just consistency and patience (not one of my strong points I may add!) Sticking to any plan is never easy but by keeping consistent in everything you do, you will help to form new habits and, in turn, have a positive impact on both your physical and mental wellbeing. Because when you are at your best then you can be your best for others.

So my advice to you - you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Sound a bit cheesy but it’s so so true. I have even astounded myself in what I have achieved this year, despite any set backs that have come my way.

Who’d have thought it eh!
